Halley P. Alexander Fingles

5th Grade Teacher

Biography

Halley P. Alexander received a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education with a specialization in Mathematics and Science from the University of Florida.  She also earned her Bachelor’s degree at the University of Florida (Florida Certification:  Elementary Education K-6).  She taught previously in Catholic Schools before teaching at Cathedral Parish School.  Ms. Alexander attended CPS from sixth to eighth grade and is delighted to be an educator at CPS.  She is currently teaching fifth grade, as well as fourth grade science.  

 

Ms. Alexander is a strong advocate for teaching the whole child.  She involves her students in various learning modalities so each child reaches his or her potential.  Ms. Alexander can be found using music, movement, and STEM-based projects in her class.  She incorporates faith into daily learning and hopes to create happy, productive members of society that will reach their full spiritual potential.  Her professional interests focus on learning and sharing innovative ways to challenge every student.

Book:  Ms. Alexander has over 500 books in her classroom library—she loves reading and immediately thought of at least ten books to put on this list.  Ask her and she will happily talk to you about all of them or give you a recommendation.

Sports: Florida Gator athletics, especially football and basketball

Hobbies: Traveling, Reading, Dancing, and Playing with her puppy, Dakota
